Department Goal
The Armstrong County Department of Information Technology's goal is to utilize technology to increase efficiency within other County departments allowing them to better serve the public while providing a stable and secure technology environment.
 
Purpose
The Department of Information Technology was formed in 2005 in implement, support and maintain technology operations for all County departments and agencies.
 
Primary responsibilities:
 
     • Security the County's network from cyber threats.
     • Support and service over 500 workstations, 50+ servers and over 35 specialized information        systems.
     • Design, implement and support all of the County’s local area networks and metropolitan        area networks.
     • Support the County’s VoIP phone system.
     • Provide Help Desk support to County Departments.
     • Provide end-user awareness and training.
     • Design and maintain numerous County Websites.
     • Oversee and provide advisement on all County Technology purchases.
