The Armstrong County GIS team is in charge of initiating and organizing enterprise GIS data, technology to increase operational effectiveness and support decision making across County agencies. In its ability as the coordinating office for county GIS plan and GIS projects, County GIS administers the County GIS Data warehouse and other enterprise GIS systems such as the ERSI intranet mapping applications.
The GIS team is responsible for developing, implementing and editing the county GIS data layers. This group manages data workflow as well as quality control and quality assurance in county data. Some of the data developed and maintained by the GIS team includes roads, parcels, water features, municipal boundaries, land use, and political boundaries.
IT GIS
The Information Technology Department(ACITD) and GIS are responsible for enterprise technology systems and provide technical support for all County departments. This group provides application development and support, infrastructure maintenance, and license management. GIS infrastructure includes: ArcGis Server Enterprise, ArcSDE Database Management, Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft .NET for ArcGis Server and other Development Tools.
